As a Real Estate Professional, this is a question we get at least twice a month. As if there is a certain time period each calendar year that makes the most sense to capitalize. 

First off, if I could predict the market, I would not be writing this blog. I would be disconnected from the digital world, cashing checks and enjoying world travel. With that being said there is an answer to this question. The best time to sell and or buy a home is when it’s best for you.

The time on the calendar does not matter. Sure, statistically more people move in Spring/Summer. There are more homes on the market, but there are more home buyers. Statistically, people move less around the holiday season. There are fewer homes for sale, but fewer people looking for homes. 

The most important part to this answer is YOU! Are you financially prepared? Are you motivated? Is there a specific region you have to be in? Are you in a time crunch? What is the proximity to your profession? How long do you plan to live in said home? The answers to these questions are much more important than the season on the calendar.
